Deborah Savage is a professional artist and award-winning writer of young adult novels (Summer Hawk, Under a Different Sky, To Race a Dream, Flight of the Albatross, A Rumor of Otters, Kotuku). Her stunning wood block prints, created especially for Surviving the Island of Grace, were designed on her visit to Harvester Island, Alaska, where she picked fish, watched whales, otter, eagles and and sea lions from a skiff, and learned to navigate the ocean waters. She lives in Montague, Massachusetts, and is available for manuscript critiques, author visits to schools and writing groups, and freelance book illustrations.
